We no longer hear your barks calling to us As we walk through the door You’re not here to make us smile To make us laugh anymore From the foot of our bed, your little snores The soft gentle kisses to our noses and cheeks The love we felt when you would lay with us The loving look when you would glance up at us Our shy little guy that was so full of love that brought so much joy to us all Now our home, our life seems quiet without you Something is missing from the floor, the foot of our bed And especially our hearts You were far more than a pet You were a family member, our best friend A truly loving soul, we will never forget You will be in our hearts and a part of our family forever It will take time for this deafening silence to go away We still look for you and listen for you And will miss you every single day You are inter-woven into the fabric of our family forever You were such a great companion Constant, loyal, and true Our hearts will always wear The paw prints left by you
